Kasa Vacation Planner

My latest independent project, volunteering to create a value proposition for Kasa.com. Kasa Living, Inc. is a real estate technology company that transforms underutilized real estate into stylishly-furnished, professionally managed units that cater to business and leisure travelers seeking trustworthy and comfortable accommodations.

The purpose of the Kasa Vacation Planner is to provide value to the booking process by enabling website visitors to validate trip feasibility against an accrued vacation analysis.

Using Excel VBA with Selenium, I captured availability data and iteratively created all available "trips." Each trip has a start and end date, and the trip's vacation days are just the number of weekdays during the trip. The program automatically excludes trips that require more vacation days than the user would have accrued at the time of the trip. It also gives users the ability to maximize their vacation usage by highlighting trips with multi-weekend availability.

Accelerated Debt Payoff Calculator

This project is close to my heart. I want to help people free themselves from the chains of debt, so they can do good with their money rather than giving it away as loan interest.

I've been using Mint.com for over a decade to track my own personal finances. Over the years, I've learned that it just doesn't serve me. The world needs better tools. That's why I've created a unique debt payoff calculator helping clients get out of debt fast.

The premise - If you meet the budget you set, you can project your income and expenses into the future. You will know with certainty how much money you would have every day of the foreseeable future. As a result, you'll know exactly how much extra money you can use to pay down debt on the day that payments are due while still having money for future budgeted expenses and emergencies.

Pro Ball Analytics

This was a fun project back in 2017 where I first attempted to apply my skills as an entrepreneur.

The Fantasy Sports community was desperate to find a way to qualify their draft picks using meaningful data. Utilizing Excel VBA, Access VBA, Win Automation, Tableau, and Zappier, I was able to automate the creation of a large flat file dataset that enabled users to get the most bang for their buck. The filtering capabilities allowed lineups to be backfilled with qualified, cost-effective draft picks.

  • Reduced the average lead time of finished goods from 22 weeks to 12 weeks.
  • Increased average monthly on-time delivery from 60% to 90%.

  • Collaborated with a supplier reducing their delivery lead times from 6 weeks to 2 weeks.
  • Developed the Plan For Every Part (PFEP) Database, an internal materials-handling logistics system that managed the physical movement and supplier replenishment of 25,000 SKU’s and $28.8M of inventory.
  • Designed and implemented a workflow distribution system that supported more than 30 structured settlement research analysts in qualifying lead value and the appropriate and equitable lead assignment to 100+ account executives.

    Business Intelligence & Analytics

  • Led a team of highly talented analysts and programmers to develop reporting, ad-hoc analyses, and process improvement initiatives supporting 350+ sales executives.
  • Led the design and implementation of a Data Warehouse with Tableau Server for data accuracy, data accessibility, and efficient data-driven reporting.
  • Created a workflow distribution system that supported 30+ structured settlement research analysts in qualifying lead value and the appropriate and equitable lead assignment to 100+ account executives.

Vedic Meditation

I studied under a Vedic Meditation Master for 20 months. I meditate twice a day, every day.
I also participated in a 10-day silent meditation (Vipassana) in Kulim, Malaysia.

Travel

Before the pandemic, I took some time to travel the world with Remote Year.
I visited Chile, Peru, Colombia, Mexico, Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, and Indonesia before coming home.

Chess

I've been playing chess since I was a young boy, and I play chess online with my father every week.

Hiking

I have spent a lot of time in the northeast since coming back to the states. Growing up in Miami, "winter" and "fall" are new concepts for me!
